Allen Pitts is an Information Technology business analyst with strengths
in the elicitation, analysis, documentation and communication of business
systems requirements. Specifying business requirements, especially with respect to
computer systems and computer software has been a focus for almost a decade.
Recently an emphasis on analyzing and specifying business requirements at the
enterprise level has begun to dominate. To this end expertise in use case analysis, and
business process modeling have made use of certification in UML (Unified Modeling Language)
and knowledged aquired in BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation).
Technical skills include Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET,
SQL Server, ASP, ASP.NET. business analysis, information architecture,
Web design & development.
Allen is an XML evangelist. Having worked several projects using XML, the advantages
of using XML, either DTD or schema based, was discovered when the 160 or so
tags available in HTML was compared to the plus infinity number of tags creatable
using XML. This flexibility and the ability of XML to be the go between
disparate platforms, languages and applications make it an information technology
powerhouse.
Mr. Pitts holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas,
and Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the
International Institute of Business Analysts and is accredited by the IIBA
as a Certified Business Analyst Professional.
In 2005 he obtained the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, VB.NET, and the Microsoft
Certified Database Administrator. In 2007 Mr. Pitts received the ITIL
(Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification.
Allen grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Jesuit College Prep. He now lives in
Dallas with his wife of over two decades, Ginger,
who is a CPA and CFO of a commercial real estate services firm.
In 1995 Allen and Ginger adopted a fifteen-month-old baby boy out of
northern Russia, Phillip. Phillip is captain on a lacrosse team and the light of
Allen's life.
